I graduated from Stranahan High School in FortLauderdale Florida.
I attended and graduated College at St. Leo University with a Bachelors Degree in social work.
I later did additional studies at the same College to work towards a degree in Health Care Administration.
After moving to Texas I studied to get my alternative certification in education with Region 7 service center. At that same time I attended SFA where I took several masters classes in behavior and special education law. I later also tested into the General education area.

I began Teaching at Overton Elementary in 1999. It was my first teaching experience and I have been here ever since. I love it here at Overton ISD.
I currently teach Special Education PK-5 on the elementary campus and am also the RTI Tier 3 specialist.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Rusty. I have one daughter, Sarah and she is married to my son-in-law, Don. They have a wonderful son, Ronin, my first grandchild. Sarah Graduated from Overton and then attended UAM and taught here at Overton for 2 years in special education. She then returned to college to get her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology and is now working with Rusk County Co-op to service our schools.
I have a dog, Nellie, who steals my heart. We have also now adopted another younger dog named ChiChi and a cat named Gingersnap
I am an accomplished artist that loves to paint and create. Feel free to ask me about my art sometime!
