OVERTON - Graduation ceremonies for Overton High School will be held at 2 p.m. May 30 at Dodson Auditorium on the Kilgore College campus. Honor graduates for the 2009-10 school year are: Devon Bass, Haylee Lowry, Natalie Aleman, Emily McDaniel and Logan Parker. Class valedictorian is Devon Bass, daughter of Laura Bell. She plans to attend the University of North Texas with a major in studio art with a concentration in metalsmithing and jewelry and a minor in business. She is a member of the Distinguished Achievement Program and has a grade-point-average of 3.828 (as of May 5, 2010). Her senior year, Devon was FFA chapter president and Beta Club vice president. She received the All-Region Leadership award from Kilgore College, and places in the Academic University Interscholastic League in news writing. Salutatorian for 2009-10 is Haylee Lowry, daughter of Terry and Pam Lowry and Tracy and Pete Savoie. She plans to attend Abilene Christian University and major in criminal justice. During her senior year she was class president, Beta Club president, volleyball team captain and homecoming duchess. She received the 2009 Kilgore College All-Region Leadership Honor and was 2009 Wendy's High School Heisman nominee. |
