Summer School Changes 
 
Students who were in grades 9-12 for the 2015-2016 have NO changes to their summer school or testing schedules.
 
Students in grades 5 and 8 for the 2015-2016 school year will end summer school for STAAR prep on June 13 and there will be no further testing this summer for these grades.  Please see the attached letter of explanation.  
 

 There is a free health services event coming up at Van Middle School on June 28th and June 29th.  Students who missed their UIL physicals can get one done for free at this event.  Other free services include adult and child wellness exams, mammograms, asthma and vision screenings as well as registration for social assistance benefits like CHIP, TANF, Medicatid/Medicare, SSI, etc.
OISD is not involved in this event other than to publicize it for anyone who is interested.  Please see the attachment below for more information.

 Overton ISD Statement of Nondiscrimination 
It is the policy of Overton ISD to not discriminate or engage in harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or any other legally protected status in its educational an dvocational programs, services or activities or matters related to employment as required by Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, and the SEction 504 of the Rehabilitation act of 1973 as amended.
This policy also prohibits retaliation against an individual who has made a good faith report of unlawful, discriminatory practices, opposed any unlawful, discriminatory practices or participated in an investigation of any complaint related to an unlawful, discriminatory practice.

Es norma del Distrito Escolar de Overton no discriminar u hostigar en base de raza, color, nacionalidad, sexo, religion,, edad, discapacidad o por cualquier otro estado legalmente protegido en sus programas educacionales y vocacionales, servicios, o actividdes o asunto relacionados con empleos tal como lo requiren el Titulo VI y el Titulo VII de la Ley de Derechos Civiles de 1964, tal como se enmendo; el Titulo IX de las Enmiendas Educativas de 1972; la Ley Contra la Discriminacion Laboral Por Edad, la Ley Sobre Estadounidenses con Discapacidades , tal como se enmendo; y la Seccion 504 de la Ley de Rehabilitacion de 1973, tal como se enmendo.
