SPECIAL BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 2006
The Board of Trustees of the Overton Independent School District met for a special meeting on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Science Lab at 501 East Henderson, Overton, Rusk County, Texas. The meeting was called to order by President David Gravley with the following members present:
David Gravley – President
Todd Meadows – Vice – President
Scott Florey – Secretary
Jamie Thomas
Pam Raney
Scotty Moore
Others present were Mark Stretcher, Superintendent, Jim Fenton, Sarah Maines, Joe Zalman, Pam Zalman, Casey True, Sara True, Matthew Zalman, Nancy Lee, Charlotte Heldenbrand, and Mary Hart. Board member, Stacey Cook was absent.
President David Gravley took the board into executive session in accordance with Texas Code Section 551.082 and 551.0821 to discuss disciplinary action against a student at 6:07 p.m.
The board reconvened into open session at 8:31 p.m.
A motion was made by Scott Florey and Jamie Thomas seconded to uphold disciplinary action taken against a student. The motion passed with 5 members voting “for” and one member, Pam Raney, voting “against”.
President David Gravley adjourned the meeting at 8:32 p.m.
