Overton ISD Board of Trustees Meeting
Summary The Overton ISD Board of Trustees
met for a regular monthly meeting on December 10, 2007. The following items
of business were transacted: ·
No
individuals spoke in open forum ·

agenda for the meeting was certified ·
The
Board reviewed the bills that were paid in November ·
Principals’
reports were given by Elementary Principal, Jennifer Driver; Middle School
Principal, T.J. Rucker and High School Principal, Leroy Davis. ·
The
Board approved a resolution to tax tangible personal property in transit. ·
CPA
Richard Loughlin presented the school’s annual financial report. He
complimented the school on the fiscal management that allowed the district to
complete the building project and also add money to the fund balance. He
noted that the areas that needed to be improved had been addressed by the
administration. ·
Dr.
Stretcher reported that the High School building was complete. He said that
there were some issues with the projectors, but that was a separate contract
and did not involve WRL construction. A final payment to WRL was approved. ·
Dr.
Stretcher reported that the County would not be able to complete the dirt
work on the softball field until after the first of the year. The school will
seek proposals to determine what some contractors would charge the school to
do the work. ·
Dr.
Stretcher reported that the application for funds through the Instructional
Facilities Allotment was almost complete and that he would meet with the
architect to examine some options if the school wants to pursue a project
through this program. ·
$700,000
of the school’s fund balance was designated for future construction
projects. ·

A
special meeting was scheduled for January 10 to conduct the
superintendent’s evaluation. Forms were distributed to the board
members for this purpose. ·
No
action was taken following executive session. ·
Dr.
Stretcher reported that all of the School Board Members were current in their
accumulation of Board Training Hours.
